Hexacoil

The Hexacoil represents us the best: Hard lines, pleasing geometry, and a feeling of nostalgia attributed to the cassette futurism styling. However, a root in traditional luthiery is still evident with its reclaimed true mahogany neck. This is juxtaposed by a body constructed from medium density fibreboard and 3D printing used throughout. 

In luthiery, MDF is generally frowned upon as a viable material to build a guitar out of - we disagree. MDF is a brilliant material! It gives the instrument a solid weight but the tone produced is airy, triumphant and unique. The body is finished in a matte white paint to ensure a clean, retro aesthetic. 

The neck directly contradicts this being beautiful true mahogany reclaimed from vintage furniture. Shaped to an unusual half hexagon shape and finished with boiled linseed oil its smooth and fast. The neck also contains some controversy incorporating a 3D printed infinite radius mahogany fretboard, but we still think its great!

The body is equipped with a set of Wilkinson mini humbuckers at calculated fixed heights for optimum tonal balance. These are controlled by a satisfying chrome 3-way toggle switch. Elsewhere on the 3D printed pickguard is a smaller two way toggle killswitch that can be used to mute the guitar as there are no volume or tone controls allowing the mini humbuckers to really sing!

The string gauge can be adjusted to order as the nut is 3D printed PLA paired with a chrome hardtail bridge.
